Basic Club Trip Rules
- Members wishing to join a trip must
book by adding their name to the Trip List or phone the Trip leader.
- The Trip Leader is always in charge of the trip, assisted by the person appointed Tail-End Charlie, and any other people as advised by the Trip Leader.
- Vehicles must be mechanically sound and suitably equipped to undertake the trip.
- All vehicles participating in a club trip must have
approved tow points front and rear*, plus carry the basic equipment of tow strop, shovel, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and PRS radio**
- Guests are the responsibility of the member who invited them - their participation must be approved by the trip leader
in advance.
When in convoy:-
- Always keep the vehicle behind you in view
- Keep your position in the convoy and no passing
- Make sure the vehicle in front has cleared the obstacle before attempting it
- If you wish to leave the trip early, advise the trip leader
- If in a convoy on the highway, keep a large
enough space between vehicles so that the other road users can pass safely
- Leave gates as they are found. If the trip leader requires the gate closed he will place a rock on the post so that Tail End Charlie knows to close the gate, or otherwise notify over the radio.
- Every trip will have a driver’s briefing that will be held by the trip leader, and additional rules and or additions to these basic rules will be advised then.
* Established club members can advise
on tow points for all models of Jeeps.
** PRS Radio - any small hand-helds such as these from Dick Smith are
suitable -
